Yeah, we all have got passion, desires and ambitions as youth to be renowned and successful. The problem I have with young and effervescent people in contemporary times is their untamed crave to either be a physician, legal practitioner or an engineer and nothing else. This could either be coercion from parents or imitation of friends. Parents are too swift in taking decisions on their offspring’s career which eventually exposes the child to misadventure and in precipice stand such a child’s destiny. While in high school, I was the best student of English Language in my class. I was a victim of parent’s pressure or persuasion. I started casting news for my school at a tender age in Jss3, the responsibility of an ss3 student. While under the auspices of the JETS club, I was made an official in PRESS club and hence, doubling as a member of JETS and an executive in PRESS – a feat. I came to a crossroads going to ss1 as my parents wanted me to become a medical doctor through science and my teachers iterated that I was better for Art class than Science class. And for peace to reign in the home, I opted for science and here I am today, a scientist and hope to become a medical doctor. Now I want to become a prolific writer of inspirational tomes, end up being a winsome philosopher and also a critic – all being bedrocks of art. Though I am not doing badly in my current profession but maybe I could have been polished and trained in college, if I had opted for art, to write with more easiness and profundity, speak with fluency, and think more expressly and meticulously and to probably, at this age become a Nobel laureate in Literature. It just indicates how versatile and flexible to any profession I can be. While still in high school, I forgot everything about writing and only got focused on my science courses en route to becoming a physician. It was in college – the penultimate year of my graduation – that I realized the need for rejuvenation of my gift after reading a lot of books on talent and also the high pedestal of esteem I was placed by my friends and colleagues. I was reinvigorated. In my cogitation of where to begin, I got the topic for this write up, building your tomorrow today. I'm not the only one who has dreams outside my career, i have friends like KollyDee (A 3rd year medical student yet one of the best and most talented musicians/vocalist of our time,Jerry Mshelia (A pharmacy student and also Nike's ambassador to ukraine and a footballer), The Pere-Albert brothers (Medical students and Game developers) to mention but a few. A more reason why we cannot match the uniqueness and be any better than the Westerners is that they promote their children’s talents by sending them to the institution that best suits their natural gifts. They help them become profoundly sound, vendible and marketable by giving them the privilege to pursue a career that complements these gifts. Why will you not be stunned hearing young millionaires like Mark Zuckerlenburg of facebook; kid maestros like Justin Bieber, Willow Smith; football icons like Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas; doing remarkably great in their various vocations. Their talents have paved the way for their successful careers at such a young age.so it's up to you today to decide "To either utilize your talent or let career come in the way".
